Paste Attributes

A function to copy and paste attributes from one clip to another.

What is paste attributes in ScreenFlow?

Paste Attributes in ScreenFlow is a feature that allows users to copy specific attributes or settings from one clip and apply them to another. This can include a variety of elements such as scale, position, rotation, video and audio filters, and more. This feature is particularly useful when you want to maintain a consistent look or effect across multiple clips in your project.

To use this feature, you simply select the clip with the desired attributes, copy it, then select the clip you want to apply those attributes to and choose 'Paste Attributes'. A dialog box will appear where you can select which attributes you want to paste. This can save a significant amount of time and ensure consistency, especially when working with a large number of clips.

How to paste attributes in ScreenFlow?

In ScreenFlow, pasting attributes from one clip to another is a simple process. First, select the clip from which you want to copy the attributes. Then, go to the "Edit" menu at the top of the screen and select "Copy". This will copy all the attributes of the selected clip.

Next, select the clip to which you want to paste the attributes. Go back to the "Edit" menu and this time select "Paste Properties". This will apply all the copied attributes to the selected clip. Please note that this will overwrite any existing attributes on the clip you are pasting to.

Why can't I paste attributes in ScreenFlow?

ScreenFlow does not support the direct pasting of attributes from one element to another. This is likely due to the complexity of the software's design and the potential for conflicts between different elements' attributes. Each element in ScreenFlow has its own unique set of attributes that are designed to work specifically for that element.

Pasting attributes from one element to another could potentially cause issues if the attributes are not compatible. For example, the attributes of a video clip might not work properly if pasted onto an audio clip. Therefore, to maintain the integrity and functionality of the software, ScreenFlow does not allow for the pasting of attributes. However, you can manually adjust the attributes of each element to match another if needed.
